The SSC Ultimate Aero, the predecessor to SSC Tuatara, was designed by the SSC North America, formerly known as Shelby Supercars, to beat the world speed record of its time. The prototype of SSC Aero was produced in 2007.

The hypercar is powered by a Chevrolet Corvette C5R V8 engine, supported by two turbochargers, generating an enormous 1287 horsepower @6950 RPM on regular gasoline.

Speed test and records set

Although SSC North America got the title of the fastest production car in 2007, it still lists in the top ten fastest cars in the world. To conduct the speed test, a 12-mile (19 km) long track (U.S. Route 93) in Nevada was closed on March 21, 2007, to test the top speed of the Ultimate Aero TT. But the test failed due to bad weather.

Six Months later, SSC North America was successful in getting the title of the fastest production car at West Richland, WA, on September 13, 2007. Rick Doria drove the vehicle in both directions. It means the total length of the track was 24 miles. The top speed is the average of the rates during two runs. The speed during the first run and second was 257.41 mph and 254.86 mph, respectively. So, the top speed calculated was 256.14 mph.

According to Guinness World Record, the SSC Ultimate Aero achieved the title of the fastest production car in the world in 2007, time at 256.14 miles per hour.

Guinness World Record

This car features a front lift mode, similar to that in SSC Tuatara. In front lift mode, the front suspension is lifted an additional 40 mm, allowing for clearance over speed bumps or other raised surfaces.

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, nicknamed Thor is the fastest car in the world 2020, manufactured in Molsheim, France by Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S and designed by expert designer Achim Anscheidt followed by Frank Heyl, Sasha Selipanov.

This fastest car is the modified version of Chiron, presented on August 2, 2019, at the Grand party organized on the eve of the company’s 110th-anniversary in Europe. This sports car is loved and dreamed by every car lover, even me.

Bugatti president Stephan Winkelmann made the big reveal at the grand party. He announced that the production of the sports car would start in 2021 pricing 3.5 million euros or $3.89M at current exchange rates, and cars produced will be electronically limited to 440 kph (273.4 mph).

Speed test and World records

The “extraordinary edition” Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ topped out at 304.773 mph (490 km/h) in an August speed run at Volkswagen’s test track with driver Andy Wallace at the wheel.

Although it reached a top speed of 304.773 mph, it is not the official fastest car in the world because it ran only on one side, not on the other side due to the track surface. So, Chiron supersport was not illegible for world records.

Therefore, Koenigsegg Agera RS still holds the title of the fastest car in the world in 2020.

The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ broke a world record for going over 300 miles per hour.

The Chiron supersport 300+ can accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 kph) in just 2.4 seconds, 0–124 mph (0–200 km/h) in 6.5 seconds and 0–186 mph (0–300 km/h) in 13.6 seconds.

Conclusion of Top 10 Fastest Cars in the World

I would like to conclude that Bugatti Chiron super sport 300 is the fastest car in the world and ranks number one in the above list of top 10 fastest cars in the world. You might be thinking of unveiled sports cars and rumored cars such as Devel Sixteen, Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, etc. These cars might go faster than Bugatti.

But these cars are yet to be unveiled by the companies. So these are excluded from the list of top 10 fastest cars in the world.

It’s concluded that Bugatti Chiron is the fastest car. But it might not be the same for someone. Old Shelby GT350 might be the fastest car for him….Lol.

I will update this article every time the new sports car is produced. So, you can bookmark the website (firespeedy.com) to get to know about further updates.
