Top 10 Fastest Sports Cars in the World 2020 | Both Official and Unofficial: There are many ways to judge the fastest cars. Acceleration is significant; having the ability to leap from zero to 60 mph quickly is perhaps the leading realistic performance benchmark.
But there’s no better ultimate ranking factor for fastest cars than top speed. So, here is the list of the top 10 fastest cars in the world, ranked by top speed. I have also tacked on a couple of cars that would set records if produced. All the fastest cars you would expect are on the list, ranked from fast to fastest.
Alright, let’s begin with the SSC Ultimate Aero that ranks at number 10 in the list of top 10 fastest cars in the world.
|Engine||Chevrolet Corvette C5R V8 engine supported by two turbochargers|

The hypercar is powered by a Chevrolet Corvette C5R V8 engine, supported by two turbochargers, generating an enormous 1287 horsepower @6950 RPM on regular gasoline.
Although SSC North America got the title of the fastest production car in 2007, it still lists in the top ten fastest cars in the world 2020. To conduct the speed test, a 12-mile (19 km) long track (U.S. Route 93) in Nevada was closed on March 21, 2007, to test the top speed of the Ultimate Aero TT. But the test failed due to bad weather.
Six Months later, SSC North America was successful in getting the title of the fastest production car at West Richland, WA, on September 13, 2007. Rick Doria drove the vehicle in both directions. It means the total length of the track was 24 miles. The top speed is the average of the rates during two runs. The speed during the first run and second was 257.41 mph and 254.86 mph, respectively. So, the top speed calculated was 256.14 mph.
According to Guinness World Record, the SSC Ultimate Aero achieved the title of the fastest production car in the world in 2007, time at 256.14 miles per hour.Guinness World Record
This car features a front lift mode, similar to that in SSC Tuatara. In front lift mode, the front suspension is lifted an additional 40 mm, allowing for clearance over speed bumps or other raised surfaces.

Koenigsegg Jesko, designed beautifully by the most famous Swedish company known as Koenigsegg, was presented at Geneva Motor Show in 2019. The sportscar is the successor of Koenigsegg Agera and was named after the founder’s father, Jesko Von Koenigsegg.
Koenigsegg Jesko uses the same engine used in Koenigsegg Agera RS. The hypercar is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine, weighing 189 kilograms, supported by turbochargers, generating a massive and maximum power of 1280 (955 kW) hp on standard fuel, and an enormous torque of 1,500Nm @ 5,100 RPM and 1000 Nm @ 2700 RPM. It is also capable of producing vast power of 1600 horsepower (1195 kW) on E85 fuel (ethanol).
Koenigsegg is very confident about Jesko; it will reach the speed above 300 mph. The company also claims that it will go 0-400-0 in less than 30 seconds.
If the Koenigsegg Jesko crosses 300 mph, it will become the fastest street-legal car with a top speed of 300 mph / 480 kph. Unlike its predecessors, it is legal to drive in the streets.
The Agera RS set the record two years ago, reaching a massive speed of 278 mph. The Jesko would break the two years old record by reaching the gigantic speed of above 300 mph. The Agera RS completed 0-400-0 km/h in 33 seconds; the company hopes that Jesko will achieve the same in under 30 seconds.

This supercar has a goal to beat the world’s speed record, which is currently owned by the Koenigsegg Agera RSwith the top speed of 278 miles per hour. You must be thinking about Bugatti Chiron Super Sport.
But I want to make you clear; the Koenigsegg Agera RS is currently the official world record holder of the fastest production car. However, the new Bugatti Chiron Super Sport did go faster on their test run, going 304.77mph. It didn’t go both directions on the speed test due to safety concerns, and therefore its speed test doesn’t count as official.
The company aims at achieving various performance-based goals. The tuatara might be going to be the fastest production car in the world by reaching a high speed of more than 300 miles per hour. The supercar would accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and complete a quarter-mile in just 9.75 seconds.
The SSC Tuatara features a driving mode selector. A driving mode selector features Sport mode, Track mode, and Front lift mode. The driving mode can be selected according to the driving conditions. Every mode helps in lowering or raising the suspension level, assisting the driver in driving and handling the car correctly in different driving conditions. The suspension can be reduced or higher to improve performance.

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, nicknamed Thor is the fastest car in the world 2020, manufactured in Molsheim, France by Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S and designed by expert designer Achim Anscheidt followed by Frank Heyl, Sasha Selipanov
This fastest car is the modified version of Chiron, presented on August 2, 2019, at the Grand party organized on the eve of the company’s 110th-anniversary in Europe. This sports car is loved and dreamed by every car lover, even me.
Bugatti president Stephan Winkelmann made the big reveal at the grand party. He announced that the production of the sports car would start in 2021 pricing 3.5 million euros or $3.89M at current exchange rates, and cars produced will be electronically limited to 440 kph (273.4 mph).
The “extraordinary edition” Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ topped out at 304.773 mph (490 km/h) in an August speed run at Volkswagen’s test track with driver Andy Wallace at the wheel.
Although it reached a top speed of 304.773 mph, it is not the official fastest car in the world because it ran only on one side, not on the other side due to the track surface. So, Chiron supersport was not illegible for world records.
Therefore, Koenigsegg Agera RS still holds the title of the fastest car in the world in 2020.
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ broke a world record for going over 300 miles per hour.
The Chiron supersport 300+ can accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 kph) in just 2.4 seconds, 0–124 mph (0–200 km/h) in 6.5 seconds and 0–186 mph (0–300 km/h) in 13.6 seconds.

I would like to conclude that Bugatti Chiron super sport 300 is the fastest car in the world and ranks number one in the above list of top 10 fastest cars in the world. You might be thinking of unveiled sports cars and rumored cars such as Devel Sixteen, Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, etc. These cars might go faster than Bugatti.
But these cars are yet to be unveiled by the companies. So these are excluded from the list of top 10 fastest cars in the world.
It’s concluded that Bugatti Chiron is the fastest car. But it might not be the same for someone. Old Shelby GT350 might be the fastest car for him….Lol.
I will update this article every time the new sports car is produced. So, you can bookmark the website (firespeedy.com) to get to know about further updates.
