Tata Motors Will Launch The Tata Tiago EV Soon

Tata Motors is an upcoming emerging automobile company in India. It will launch the Tata Tiago EV, one of its best electric cars, soon. Tata Tiago EV was first introduced at the 2018 Auto Expo event held in Delhi.

It’s built on the new Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) platform and uses the company’s Ziptron powertrain technology. According to Firespeedy, It would be one of the best electric cars with a low budget for middle-class people.

The information about the vehicle is not disclosed by Tata Motors yet. All the data depends on the meetings with the organization authorities and some probably won’t be valid.

Powertrain

Tiago EV is motorized by a liquid-cooled 85 kW electric motor and powered by a 26-kWh battery pack. It can generate massive power of 40.4 bhp @ 4,500 rpm and torque of 150 Nm @ 2500 rpm.

The car will be a front-wheel drive with a single-speed transmission.

Interior and Exterior

The exterior of the upcoming Tata Tiago Electric car is similar to the ICE-powered Tiago. The changes include a new grille, chrome highlights, Body-color ORVMs, and handles. It is inferior to the Tata Altroz EV.

The interiors will get a significant change. It includes the new design infotainment system with steering audio controls. Every variant of Tiago EV will feature standard safety features: dual airbags, seat belt reminders, and the park assist system.

Performance of Tata Tiago EV

Tiago Electric would run about 300 km after a full charge and can reach a top speed of 100 kph. A fast charger can charge the battery to 80% in just an hour. A standard 230V charger at home can charge the battery in about 7-8 hours.

In sports mode, Tata Tiago EV can accelerate to 60 km/h in under 6 seconds and 0-100 km/h in 11 seconds.

Production of Tata Tiago EV

Tata Motors first planned to launch the Tata Tiago Electric Car in 2021. But the production got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it’s expected to launch the EV in Feb 2023 with an estimated price of 6-8 lakhs.
