Overview of Yamaha YZF R15

The Yamaha YZF R15 has proved to be a great bike for young riders and automotive enthusiasts who love redlining their bikes. It is considered very much different from other 150cc motorcycles because of several reasons that are below as follows:

The Durability of parts

The bike that has very durable parts has a great influence on performance and the Yamaha YZF R15 too has very durable parts making it better for redlining. Its durability of parts does not have any effect on it when it is revved at higher RPMs.

Power to weight ratio

A bike that has a better power to weight ratio has better performance on offer in comparison to other motorcycles. Here, the Yamaha YZF R15 is the mentioned example as this bike generates 18.6 PS of horsepower and 14 Nm of torque in its BS6 version.

There are competitors like Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 which fair against this bike but indirectly as the Yamaha YZF R15 is in a different league due to its power to weight ratio which is nearly 130 BHP/tonne that is even higher than Apache 160 4v too.

If you are thinking that capacity can influence power and torque then, of course, it can but it’s not always possible as the weight of the bike is also responsible for power.

Variable Valve Actuation technology

The Variable Valve Actuation technology is being used by the brand in its bike, the Yamaha YZF R15 which is responsible for the opening and closing of the valves as per the timings and the revving of the engines.

When Indians have started accepting high revving bikes, the brand had thought about why not making a bike that has great performance and that is how they thought of making their engine tech-savvy to extract performance from the bike. Whenever you will go to higher RPMs, the valves will also open according to the actuator due to which more and more petrol enters the engine for better performance.

This technology is derived from the elder R siblings the R1 and the R6. In this, a person who rides this bike gets better mid-range and better redline performance.

Liquid Cooling technology

The Yamaha YZF R15 has a very high compression ratio due to which more heat is being produced from its engine. In order to cool down the bike during high RPM revving, the liquid cooling system is being given so that the bike cools down and the engine does not malfunction ensuring better performance without any hassle. In this way, better cooling performance is being ensured in the engine.

Aerodynamic design

Whenever a car or a bike is developed for better performance, it is designed in a very aerodynamic way in order to reduce the windblast. The Aerodynamic Design of the Yamaha YZF R15 makes it cut through the windblast that also influences the performance. In the bike, a person will surely cut to see sharp creases that are responsible for its better aerodynamics.

6-speed Transmission

The Yamaha YZF R15 features a very great top speed due to which the brand had provided the bike with a 6-speed manual transmission in order to achieve a top speed in a very efficient way without affecting the mileage.

The more gears you have, the better it is for your bike as cruising on the highway becomes fun with a sufficient amount of gears.

No of valves

The Yamaha YZF R15 has 4 valves on offer instead of featuring a 2-valve design due to which the stages of intaking fuel for compression and the exhaust gases being pulled out of the engine becomes very efficient that ensures a very efficient performance from the engine.

There are two valves that function for intake and the other two valves are for the exhaust gases that are pulled out of the engine.

Yamaha YZF R15 V3 Price

Here you of course got to know that why the Yamaha R15 V3 Price is on the expensive side in comparison to many 150cc motorcycles but now the actual comes about the pricing which is nearly 1.52 lakhs.

If you compare the pricing with other bikes in the 150cc category like the Gixxer SF then the pricing would be on the lesser expensive side. The main conclusion that arises for its price is its tech-savvy nature and the engine which is designed in a way that it has a lot of performance on offer.
