Top 7 Fastest Manmade Things in the World

Humans have begun to make more powerful and high-speed objects over decades to reach distant goals. A spacecraft in orbit travels at a speed of 17,000 mph. Many space probes such as Helios 1, Helios 2 or Voyager 1 from NASA have enough power to reach the moon in a few hours. The list of fastest man-made items is given below:

7. NASA X– 43A – 7000 mph

NASA X-43A is an unmanned hypersonic aircraft. In 2005, the Guinness Book of World Records ranked NASA X-43A as the fastest aircraft ever. It crosses a top speed of 7000 mph. Which is about 8.4 times faster than the speed of sound.

6. Stardust – 28856 mph

Stardust was a great space probe launched by NASA in 1999. During its mission this 300 kg, robotic probe achieved a maximum speed of 28,856 mph. That is, 6 times faster than the bullet speed.

5. New Horizons – 36373 mph

New Horizons is a space probe launched by NASA in 2006. The mission aims to study Pluto and its moons. The probe successfully flew 7800 miles above Pluto on 14 July 2015. Thus, the New Horizon became the first space probe to detect the planet dwarf Pluto.

4. Voyager 1 – 38610 mph

It is the most travelled human-made object. During the mission, the Voyager 1 space probe has attained a maximum speed of 38610 mph. It has covered a recorded distance of 520 million kilometres every year.

3. Helios 1 – 142000 mph

On 10 December 1974, the Helios 1 space probe was launched by the German Space Agency and NASA. The Helios 1 space probe has achieved a speed of 142000 mph during the voyage. This space probe revolves around the Sun at a distance of 1 AU (149597871 km) from the surface.

2. Helios 2 – 157078 mph

The NASA Helios 2 space probe is the fastest man-made object. It set a speed of 157078 mph during the mission. Helios 2 is built for approaching the Sun. It was launched on 15 January 1976. It reached the Sun’s orbit on 17 April 1976.

1. Parker Solar Probe – approximately 430,000 mph

It was launched on August 12, 2018, and is NASA’s long-planned attempt to “touch the sun”, with NASA’s plans to probe many of the sun’s orbits. It is the fastest ever built by mankind. According to NASA, when its final orbit begins, it will move at a speed of about 430,000 mph.
